"According to the Church's command, "after having attained the age of discretion, each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year." Anyone who is aware of having committed a mortal sin must not receive Holy Communion, even if he experiences deep contrition, without having received sacramental absolution..."
~(CCC 1457).

Sacramental Confession is the liturgical celebration of God's forgiveness of sins, given to us by Jesus Christ Himself. It is the ordinary way by which a soul in mortal sin may be restored to grace.  By his contrition, the confession of sins, and satisfaction or reparation - together with the prayers of absolution by the priest - the penitent is reconciled with God and the Church.

Confessions are offered on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Please check the calendar for any changes in the regular schedule. Confessions are available any time by appointment - (704) 735-5575.

Children preparing for First Holy Communion will be instructed and receive the Sacrament of Penance during their second grade Faith Formation year. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. office for more information.
