Stewardship: A Way of Life
At St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church, stewardship is more than giving—it is a grateful response to all that God has given us.
As disciples of Christ, we are called to recognize our gifts and use them in service to God and one another. Through the sharing of our time, talent, and treasure, each of us plays an important role in the life and mission of our parish.
Stewardship invites us to ask:
- How can I grow closer to Christ through prayer and the Sacraments?
- What gifts and talents has God entrusted to me?
- How can I use those gifts to serve my parish and community?
- How can I generously support the mission of the Church?
Whether you serve at Mass, teach the faith, participate in a ministry, help with parish events, care for those in need, pray for others, or financially support the parish, your participation helps St. Dorothy’s continue its mission of bringing Christ to others.
There is a place for everyone to serve.
Give Your Time
Our time is one of God’s greatest gifts. Stewardship of time begins with making room for Him through prayer, participation in the Mass and Sacraments, and involvement in the life of the parish.
It can also mean offering a few hours to help with a parish event, assisting a ministry, visiting someone in need, or simply being available when an extra set of hands is needed.
Share Your Talents
God has given each of us unique abilities, experiences, and gifts. Some are called to teach, some to welcome, some to organize, some to sing, some to serve behind the scenes, and some to provide encouragement and prayer.
No gift is too small when it is offered to God.
We encourage every parishioner to prayerfully consider where their talents can strengthen our parish family and help us carry out Christ’s mission.
Give Your Treasure
Financial stewardship allows St. Dorothy’s to celebrate the Sacraments, provide faith formation, maintain our parish facilities, support ministries and outreach, and respond to the needs of our community.
Giving is ultimately an act of gratitude and trust—returning to God a portion of what He has first entrusted to us.
We invite every household to prayerfully consider how charitable giving can become a regular part of their life of faith.
Volunteer at St. Dorothy’s
Volunteers are an essential part of parish life. From liturgical ministries and Faith Formation to parish events, outreach, hospitality, and behind-the-scenes assistance, there are many ways to become involved.
If you are unsure where your gifts might be best used, please contact the parish office. We would be happy to help you find a ministry or volunteer opportunity that fits your interests, talents, and availability.
Safe Environment
St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for children, young people, vulnerable adults, parishioners, volunteers, and staff.
In accordance with the requirements of the Diocese of Charlotte, all volunteers who are required to complete Safe Environment compliance must complete the appropriate training and background-screening process before serving.
Safe Environment training helps members of our parish community recognize appropriate boundaries, identify warning signs of abuse, understand reporting responsibilities, and work together to protect those entrusted to our care.
Safe Environment Training for Volunteers
All parish volunteers must complete the Safe Environment requirements established by the Diocese of Charlotte for their ministry or volunteer role.
Training and compliance are completed through CMG Connect.
Before volunteering, please make sure that:
- Your CMG Connect account is active and up to date.
- All required Safe Environment training has been completed.
- Your background screening is current, when required.
- Any additional requirements associated with your ministry have been completed.
